Ghosts of Cherokee: 2006 Jeep Commander
Visitors of the 2005 New York International Auto Show may have thought they saw a ghost the second they stepped into the Jeep display area. A ghost of the last Jeep Cherokee, that is. In an attempt to return to its “classic” design, and appease those who haven’t exactly been pleased with the soft look of the current Liberty, Jeep has come up with this boxy version of the current Grand Cherokee called the Commander.

Nissan Celebrates New Design Center with Sport Concept Debut
Apparently one US design studio isn’t enough for Nissan. Earlier this month, the Japanese automaker opened the doors of Nissan Design America – Farmington Hills, a $14 million 50,912 square foot expansion on the campus of Nissan Technical Center North America, Inc. – just outside of Detroit. Interestingly enough, Nissan unveiled their new Sport Concept in conjunction with the opening of NDA – Farmington Hills even though the hatchback was actually designed in Japan.

Lexus IS Makes US Debut
Not long after its world debut in Europe, Lexus has taken the wraps off the US version of its all-new IS sedan at the New York International Auto Show on Wednesday. "We're taking dead aim at the top of the class with the new IS," said Lexus Marketing Vice President Mark Templin. "We plan to offer a compelling range of models and options with class-leading performance and luxury."
